Robert Mapplethorpe. The Forms of Beauty
Beauty does not always reveal itself in the same way
Sometimes it becomes a story told through images, voices, and emotions.
During September and October, Rome celebrates beauty in its many different forms, becoming once again a place where art and life meet naturally.
At the Museo dell’Ara Pacis, Robert Mapplethorpe. Le forme della bellezza invites visitors to explore the idea of beauty through the rigorous and timeless eye of one of the greatest photographers of the twentieth century. More than two hundred photographs reveal a world built on harmony, balance, and precision, where the human body, flowers, and still life become subjects of pure form and silent poetry.
A few days later, the city turns its gaze towards another form of storytelling: cinema. The Festa del Cinema di Roma returns in October, bringing together filmmakers, actors, and audiences in a celebration of images that become memories, emotions, and shared experiences.
Two different languages, photography and cinema, united by the same desire: to capture a moment and make it last. One through the perfect stillness of a photograph, the other through the movement of a story unfolding before our eyes.
This is perhaps one of Rome’s greatest gifts: the ability to transform every form of art into an experience, inviting those who visit to slow down, observe, and discover beauty from new perspectives.

At Parisii, we believe that beauty is never just something to see. It is something to experience.
